Navigating the Minefield: Firefox 4.03 Beta

Lately new versions of the Firefox 4 beta have been coming out( code named: “Minefield”). There are many new features in the newest versions of the browser. Most notably interface changes(Tabs on top), and some speed improvements. There is also the new tab management feature called “Tab Candy”.

In the betas Firefox 4 seems much snappier and slicker. Tab Candy “was” an awesome feature that really made dealing with large amounts of tabs easy and intuitive. For some reason the third beta got rid of this functionality and I don’t know why. This saddens me as the new feature seemed quite stable and very useful. Hopefully it will be back in before the stable release. If it is held back until V5, I will be very disappointed. The 4.03 beta seems very stable and hasn’t given any problems yet. The only thing I miss is the omnibar extension and some other minor plugins that I were nice to have.

You can & should download the newest Firefox beta from the official FTP server. I assure you that you will be happy with making the switch to the newest and coolest version of Firefox.
