Red Dead Redemption is Rock Star Game’s newest production. Red Dead Redemption follows in the same vein as Rock Star’s notorious 3rd person sandbox Grand Theft Auto series. Instead of being located in a big city playing a criminal this game takes place during the 1800′s in the Wild West as John Marston a gang member turned bounty hunter.
Story
In Red Dead Redemption you can do almost anything you think of. If you want to follow the story line you can but if you want to just ride your horse through the wilderness killing bandits you can do that also. Red Dead Redemption has one of the most interesting campaign of all the games I have played. From defending stage coaches to rescuing people from criminals there is no shortage of action. I have played five hours so far through the game and I haven’t even scratched the surface.
Gameplay
The developers of Red Dead Redemption didn’t skimp on the gameplay elements either. The shooting mechanics are snappy and responsive. I also like how each gun feels unique and useful in different situations. RDR also features the lifesaving “Dead Eye” shooting mechanic where you can slow down time and make your shots more accurate. While playing Red Dead Redemption you become instantaneously immersed in the realistic in-game world of the Wild West.
Overall
I think Red Dead Redemption is as good as GTA if not better. I think the change of scenery makes RDR much more interesting; I think it is one of those games I that I will be playing months from now. With a meaty storyline and awesome gameplay RDR is game of the year worthy and is not going to be easily forgotten.
