The Fountain Pen Freak

Currently I am waiting for my new bottle of Noodler’s Eel Blue fountain pen ink. This is the second bottle of ink I will own and I can’t wait to play with some new color! Now Noodler’s Bullletproof Black & Blue Eel will be on my desk. I have to admit being a  fountain pen aficionado/collector is quite fun.

Owning writing instruments that shape to your hand and not vice versa is such a great feeling. With Fountain Pens writing seems much smoother and natural. While ballpoint pens require you to push into the paper fountain pens allow you to glide across it. If you haven’t tried writing with a fountain pen you are really missing out on a better writing experience.

In the long run fountain pens are actually cheaper. A fountain pen and a bottle of ink can cost as little as $30. The fountain pen can basically last forever and depending on how much you write the ink can last for up to a year and a half or more. Compared to buying a thirty of the cheap disposable ball point pens that seems like a good deal.

Last but not least fountain pens allow you to write in whatever color ink you want. One day it can be sky blue the next amazon green. Ink makers such as Noodlers make hundreds of different colors that allow your writing to stand out among the seas of blue and black ink.

Overall I highly recommend you ditch you cheapy dollar pens and make the switch to the always reliable king of all writing instruments: fountain pen. If  you are wondering where to start out try the awesome forum boards at fountainpennetwork.com. I also highly recommend the Noodler’s Inks and the Lamy Safari for beginners.
