Why Opera mini for Iphone will pass Apple’s approval

Opera mini; the mobile version of the somewhat popular Opera browser has been submitted by the Opera development team just a couple of days ago. Their has been much discussion about whether the app will be approved.

There are a couple of reasons I think this browser will be approved. First, Opera has made it clear they will raise a broohaha if Apple rejects their app. Apple won’t hear the end of Opera’s wrath for months if Opera mini is rejected.

Opera even has a count up counter on their website saying how long Opera mini has been in going through Apple’s approval process. Opera has released videos of Opera mini’s performance showing how it is almost six times as fast the default Iphone browser.

Ad far as I can tell I think if the app is rejected Opera’s legal team will pounce on Apple like a lion on a wildebeest. Opera will definitely claim Apple is committing anti-competitive actions.

Finally other browser apps are already on the app store. If Apple rejects Opera Mini they would have to get rid of all the other alternative browser options that have already passed Apple’s approval process.
